GRC is currently seeking a Head of Office (m/f/d) to Myanmar.
The overall objective of this position is to lead the integrated bilateral cooperation between the GRC and its main partner in Myanmar, the Myanmar Red Cross (MRCS).
GRC has a long and trustful cooperation with MRCS and established a country office in 2018. The main project portfolio is linked to Capacity Building in the fields of Disaster Risk Management, Anticipatory Action, First Aid, Livelihood/CVA and community-based work, both with host communities and internally displaced people. Geographic focus includes urban areas (Yangon, Mandalay), coastal areas (Tanintharyi, Ayeyarwady, Mon, Bago) and conflict-sensitive contexts (Rakhine, Kachin, Sagaing, Magway, Kayin)
The GRC country office is based in Yangon, integrated into the MRCS Headquarters.

Duration: 24 months (with possible extension)
Location: Yangon
Main duties & responsibilities:
- Development of GRC country strategy, including financial forecasting and budgeting
- Management of partnerships with the MRCS and Movement partners.
- Representation of GRC towards donors, governmental and non-governmental stakeholders and media.
- Guidance and support to MRCS, strengthening operational capacities, quality assurance, technical support in line with jointly identified priorities.
- Overall coordination of the of GRC country programme implementation, including project development, needs assessment, identification of funding opportunities.
- Compliance with GRC and donor regulations and standards, including procurement processes and finance management.
- Grant management, budgeting, financial and narrative reporting, monitoring.
- Office management, including administration and filing.
- Security and safety management.
- Team management with a consistent approach in the fields of PSEA, diversity management and learning and development.
- Quality assurance in close coordination with the respective technical advisors at GRC headquarters.
Required Competencies & Skills:
- At least five years of senior leadership experience, including management of international and diverse teams.
- At least five years of experience in the field of international cooperation and humanitarian aid, including technical expertise in key sectors and a profound understanding of the Humanitarian landscape, tools and topics, Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement experience is a strong asset.
- Excellent programme coordination and project management skills, including financial management, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation and reporting, and thorough understanding of donor guidelines and regulations.
- Strong leadership skills, including strategic thinking, decision-making, presenting, and mediating conflict.
- Strong diplomatic skills and experience in representation and networking.
- Outstanding resilience and stress management skills, including remote management.
- Proven record of capacity strengthening, team development and coaching.
- Experience in the development and implementation of policies in the fields of safety and security, PSEA, compliance and human resources development.
- Excellent understanding of the Movement and full commitment to the Red Cross fundamental principles.
- Oral and written fluency in English, German is of advantage.
- Ability to complete a thorough medical screening process 'working abroad under specific climate and health conditions'.
- Valid International Driving Permit (IDP).

In addition to a full insurance package GRC is covering a home flight within a 12-months period of assignment. Medical check-ups and Psychosocial Support Service are included in your assignment.
